There are also several different ways to actually make them, all of which you should be quite aware of. There are features and characteristics that you need to be aware of, and when you are aware of them, you will be able to make a much better loaf of bread. That being the case, let’s take a look at the different types of bread, as well as what bread really is.

What is Bread?

It is a basic food that can be created by cooking water and dough, as well as other items if you so desire. For the most part, dough is baked in the western world. In the rest of the world you w ill find that it can be steamed or even baked. In some cases it might even be unleavened.

Some of the most basic bread ingredients include baking soda and yeast, though there might also be things such as egg, milk, raisins, sugar, spice, among other things. You may also find walnuts and vegetables in them. Bread is very old, and has been made for hundreds of years. It is no surprise that there are so many different ways to actually prepare it.

More About Bread

Many people prefer fresh bread because it is high quality, and has a great taste. Keeping it fresh will make it much more appealing. Now if the bread is stiff, then it will no longer be fresh. It will in fact be referred to as stale. These days bread will be wrapped up in plastic, and can be kept in a bread box. This will keep it from drying out and becoming stale. Now if you try to keep it in a warm environment it may grow mold, which is slightly counterproductive. It is also a bad idea to keep it in the refrigerator because the mold will just grow slower. It will become stay as a result of retrogradation.

Culinary experts have called the crumb the soft inside part of the bread. The parts that fall off of the bread are also called crumbs, but they have nothing to do with the interior of the bread. The outside of the bread is hardened, and it is called the crust.

Serving Bread

No matter what the temperature of the bread is, it can be served quite easily. You can also eat it in many different ways. Whether you want to use eating utensils, or your hands, it can be done and is socially acceptable. You can also serve bread with gravy, olive oil, and a number of other things. Of course it can also be used as a sandwich, which is the most popular use of bread these days.

About the Crust

Bread crust is the product of dough that was exposed throughout the cooking procedure. It becomes brown, and is then hardened through the process of caramelization. The crust will be different depending on the type of bread and the way in which it was cooked. In other words, some bread crust might be more edible than others.

Happy Baking,
